YOGA
Matt Huish
I began my yogic studies with Matt Huish in 2005 and was a student and assistant instructor in Matt’s intensive three-year teacher training program. Matt is not only a highly gifted teacher but a profoundly ethical human being. He has guided me in my studies of an intense form of yoga called Shadow Yoga and Matt’s current work in Nadi Yoga. Nadi Yoga combines classical asana with mudra and pranayama and is a powerful way to remove obstacles and open energetic pathways in the subtle body.
I have been initiated into the Sri Vidya tradition and study this profound Tantric form of yoga with Matt. For more on Sri Vidya, click here.
HORSES
Brent Graef
Brent Graef is a master horseman I’ve worked with for two years. He helped me Dakota’s first ride and has been a kind, caring, powerful teacher for me in my journey with horses. He’s an amazing man and one of the best teachers I’ve ever worked with.
Perhaps his most profound work is in working with young horses. This video captures moments, but to really understand the work he does, you have to take the class. It is about much more than working with young horses and will affect everything you understand about horses.
Here is a clip of him working with a young horse. Groundwork is an essential part of what Brent teaches, no matter the level of the horse or the rider:
His Canyon ride class is something I yearn to do, as soon as Dakota is old enough. Palo Dura Canyon is an intensely beautiful and powerful place. It had a profound effect on me when I visited during Brent’s Young Horse Handling Clinic:
