To change, a person must face the dragon of her appetites with another dragon,

the life energy of the soul.

-Rumi

When we think of yoga, we generally think of a series of postures we undertake in order to be more flexible, strong, and attain a sense of well-being. While these are important by-products of yogic practice, the real heart of yoga is in its transformational power to purify the body and mind.

Founded by Zhander Remete, Shadow Yoga utilizes classical yogic and ayurvedic theory to develop a system of transformational practices that identify and eventually help release blocks held in the different ‘sheaths’ that make up the individual person. By confronting and integrating the energy contained

Shakti is the energy within the human system that is usually used up by the excesses of mundane existence....Yoga is designed to remove the excesses of habitual living in order to free this energy so that it can be directed towards a higher order of living.

-Zhander Remete

within our own obstacles, we remove the blocks that create the shadows that block the free flow of our own life force.  The result is a peace and transparency that allows our inner light to shine forth.
